Today, in recognition of National Health Center Week Michelle Steel, Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, visited the Orange County Healthcare Agency’s Clinic in Santa Ana on 17th Street with Health Care Agency Director Dr. Clayton Chau and staff from all HCA departments to commend all the hard work they do to protect the health of our constituents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“These hardworking individuals have been working 24/7 fighting this virus. Some of them haven’t taken a day off since this pandemic began,” said Chairwoman Steel. “I want to say thank you all the healthcare workers for all that they do. This week is national health center week. In celebrating our hardworking, dedicated health workers we have to say thank you to them for all that they do to protect us not only today, but every day.”
Dr. Chau noted that healthcare agency staff have worked countless overtime hours in their fight against the virus. Chairwoman Steel presented the healthcare agency with a resolution recognizing their continued dedication to the protection of public health in Orange County.
First elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors in 2014, Michelle Steel represents the residents of the Second District, which includes, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Stanton, the unincorporated area of Rossmoor, and portions of Buena Park and Fountain Valley. Steel, a successful businesswoman and renowned taxpayer advocate, previously served as Vice Chair of the State Board of Equalization where she represented more than eight million people in Southern California, including all of Orange County, as one of the state’s 12 constitutional officers.
