On Friday, July 31st, from 8:00 AM- 11:30 AM, Michelle Steel, Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, teamed up with Saddleback Church to distribute water and groceries to OC residents that are in need of food. Chairwoman Steel helped facilitate this by working with the Orange County Fairgrounds to have it used as a location for the food drive.
“I am so happy to have been able to work with Saddleback Church on this much needed food drive for the people of Orange County,” said Chairwoman Steel. “In these troubling times, its vital that both local government and the faith community can work together to make people’s lives just a little bit easier as we work our way out of this crisis.”
Throughout the morning, Chairwoman Steel and her staff handed out bottles of water to the Orange County residents while they were waiting for their food. At total of 1,400 families came the food drive, each of them receiving 1 week’s worth of meals. This included fruits and vegetables, breads and dried goods as well as milk, cheese and meats.
